National Library Week (4/24 – 4/30): Meet the libraries

National Library Week (4/24 – 4/30): Meet the libraries In-Person

As we close out National Library Week (April 24 – 30) we would like to invite you to drop by one of the four libraries to pick up an Oberlin College Libraries sticker.  Go to your favorite library or visit one that is new to you.  You will find the Conservatory, Science, Art and Terrell (main) libraries each house subject specific materials, have different ambiences and unique study spaces.

Conservatory Library boasts one of the strongest music research and performance collections in the country. In addition to thousands of music scores, and sound recordings, the collection includes research resources in print and digital formats as well as an impressive range of tangible and digital special collections housed in the Kohl Building.

The Science library is great place to study and to find peer-reviewed science research online or in the print collection.  It is the primary location for materials in astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, neuroscience, and physics, along with general works in natural science. It's study area is filled with natural light and oversees the north quad.

Clarence Ward Art Library collections provide broad-based coverage of the history, theory, criticism, and practice of the visual arts to support the teaching, research, and art practices of Oberlin students, faculty, curators, and staff.  You will find a picture window where you can study and look into the Allen Art museum gallery.

The Mary Church Terrell Main Library is the central library facility for Oberlin College and the primary location for materials in the humanities, social sciences, mathematics, computer science, and general interest works. It takes up 4 floors of the Mudd Center, a fine example of brutalist architecture built in the 1970s.  Here you will fine Oberlin's womb chairs.
