Two-Day Bookbinding of Richard Powers book with Jace Graf

Two-Day Bookbinding of Richard Powers book with Jace Graf In-Person

FRIDAY, APRIL 5 (NOON TO 5PM) AND SATURDAY, APRIL 6 (9:00-5:00PM)

Bind your own limited edition, signed letterpress copy of the Oberlin Commencement Address by Richard Powers with Texas bookbinder Jace Graf. You will learn a modern binding technique, first making a blank book on Day 1, and then, on day 2, binding a copy of an extremely limited edition of the 2023 Commencement speech "The Future is Behind You" signed by Richard Powers. An immediate collectors' item.

Open to Students, Staff, Faculty, and Community Members on a first-come-first served basis. To cover participation in 2-day workshop, supplies, and the signed, limited edition imprint value, we request a donation to the Book Studies program from all participants. (Suggested donation: $100-$200). 15 places-- attendance on both days is necessary. This workshop will meet at Moffett Auditorium (Mudd A050).

Participants must agree not to sell their copy of this valuable limited edition for at least one calendar year. Registered students who fail to attend will be charged $150 through the Library to cover the costs of supplies/book. You acknowledge this stipulation by registering.
